Upcycled Fingerless Mitten Workshop with Judi Morales Gibson

Make cozy, stylish and kitchy fingerless mittens out of old sweaters. This class is for beginning and intermediate students, to include basics of hand-sewing. Students should bring an old sweater to cut up (the fluffier the better), fleece fabrics and color funky yarns.
This class is open to both adults and teens 14 and up.

Instructor Bio:
Sewing has become a lost art. Judi believes that everyone should have basic sewing skills and understand the versatility of fabric. Sewing doesn’t have to be tedious, frustrating or time-consuming. Judi is a guerilla seamstress; she doesn’t use patterns, rarely uses pins and has multiple shortcuts for quick results. Her teaching style is casual, non-intimidating and hands-on. Judi has been making costumes for twenty-five years. She’s studied theatrical costume design, learned techniques from professional designers and currently teaches private lessons. Her own line, Cinder Garden Designs, features Upcycled Steampunk clothing designed for Burning Man. Judi’s goal is to make sewing accessible, creative and fun for everyone.
